I came upon Freshens, a smoothie company.
The stand in the airport didn't offer crepes, but it did have a list of smoothies to choose from.
My eyes were drawn to the Low-cal smoothies because it looked like they had the least amount of "stuff" in them. I ordered the Strawberry Oasis without Booster. So what did I get?
According to the nutritional fact sheet you get this:
|No Sugar Added Strawberry Oasis™
Strawberries, Juice Blend & Booster
TRANS FAT (g)
SAT FAT (g)
FAT % CAL
VITAMIN A (%DV)
VITAMIN C (%DV)
VITAMIN D (%DV)
VITAMIN E (%DV)
PROTEIN % D/V
You also get this:
- Natural strawberries: This means they are not organic so they will have some trace amounts of chemical fertilizer, pesticides and herbicides in the fruit.
- Juice blend: Not sure what is in that. I couldn't find the recipe on the website.
If you order the booster:
- Booster: This was tough to find. Assuming they are using one of the popular MET-Rx products the Protein Plus you also get: including an adequate caloric intake.
METAMYOSYN® Protein Blend (Milk Protein Concentrate,
Calcium Sodium Caseinate, Whey Protein Isolate, L-Glutamine, Egg
White), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Guar Gum, Cellulose Gum, Xanthan
Gum, Sucralose, Soy Lecithin.
Yes, there is milk protein in there so if you were trying to get something non-dairy then this is not it. Also, whey protein which is a byproduct of cheese and egg white. You are also getting artificial flavors and sweeteners.
